Semi-Structural Glazing

Semi-structural glazing is a hybrid system where some parts of the façade have visible aluminum frames, while others use structural silicone to bond the glass directly. Typically, vertical or horizontal mullions remain visible, while the other direction is frameless. This approach provides a sleeker look compared to traditional curtain walls but retains some structural support from visible frames.

Structural Glazing

Structural glazing is a frameless system where glass panels are directly bonded to the aluminum framework using high-strength structural silicone. This creates a seamless, all-glass appearance without external aluminum framing. Structural glazing is commonly used in modern high-rise buildings and glass facades to achieve a clean, contemporary aesthetic while maintaining strength and weather resistance.

Curtain Walls

Curtain walls are lightweight, non-load-bearing facades made of aluminum and glass, attached to the building’s structure. They are designed to resist wind loads, prevent water infiltration, and enhance thermal and acoustic insulation. Curtain walls can be stick-built (assembled on-site which Solution 13 uses) or unitized (pre-fabricated panels). They often feature visible aluminum frames that hold the glass panels in place.
